Hi, my name is Jen Duman and I am one of the kindergarten teachers here at Pittsfield.
This is my 17th year teaching here at Pittsfield, I have taught grades K-3 and various multi-age combinations within these grades (K-1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2). I love seeing the progress that students make, both academically and socially in kindergarten, it’s unlike any other grade level!
A little bit about myself, I graduated from Albion College in 1995 with a degree in French and Elementary Education. I later received Master’s Degrees from Marygrove College in the Art of Teaching, and from Walden University in Elementary Reading and Literacy.
My husband, Bob is a Senior Systems Engineer at WorkForce Software in Livonia.
We have two daughters. McKenna Claire is 6 years old and Savannah Paige is 4.
McKenna is a first grader at Pittsfield this year! As a parent of a current Pittsfield student, I can really relate to many of the things you are experiencing with your children. I would love to talk with you about your child’s development, and all the trials and tribulations that come with being a parent!
We all live in Whitmore Lake with our Dog, Soco.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, swimming, and sleeping (any spare moment I get

If you would like to learn more about me, or how our kindergarten classroom works, I would love to hear from you at duman@aaps.k12.mi.us
